Ally Wiegand, a Downs-IL native, was a 2016 graduate from Tri-Valley High school where she was a four-year varsity softball player. Wiegand was involved with the BNGSA organization, Premier Fastpitchorganization, and Iowa Premier Fastpitch organization. In 2016, Wiegand won the Platinum PGF National with the Iowa Premier Fastpitch.In 2016, Wiegand continued her playing career at the University of South Dakota before transferring toIllinois Wesleyan University. At IWU, Wiegand owns the IWU career records for earned run average,opponent batting average, strikeouts per seven inning game, saves, and shutouts. She set the schoolrecord with 19 strikeouts in a perfect game effort against Illinois College, Feb. 20. Wiegand is a two-timeNFCA All-American, three-time All-CCIW First Team, NFCA All-Great Lakes Region honoree, 2019NFCA/Schutt Sports Division III National Pitcher of the Year, 2019 CCIW Pitcher of the Year, and a 2020CoSIDA Academic All-American.
Wiegand graduated Cum Laude from Illinois Wesleyan University in 2020 with a major in English and aminor in Psychology. She has been giving lessons for 6 years and has experience coaching junior high,travel, and junior collegiate level. She is currently an Assistant Coach for Heartland Community Collegeas well as an Assistant Coach for the BNGSA Angels ’03.
