Alexis West, a Bloomington-Normal native, was a 2017 graduate from Tri-Valley High School where she was a four year starter on the varsity softball team. She was an All-Conference selection her Freshman and senior year and captain her junior year as well as her senior year. Alexis also played for the BNGSA Avanti’s Angels coached by Steve Hassel and K’s GM, Kimmy Hassel for 6 years. As a member of the Angels, she won 4 ASA Illinois State Championships, 4 USSSA Illinois State Championships, 2 ASA Northern National Championships and a PGF National Qualifier. Over her last five years, her team posted a 301-60 record, which is a winning percentage of 83.3%.
In her first two years of college, Alexis attended Illinois Central College, where she played softball and earned her Associates in the Arts. During her time there, she was a two year starter. Her freshman year she helped take her team to the NJCAA National Tournament. During her sophomore year she was awarded with honors of the All-District Tournament Team and again helped to take her team to the National Tournament. She is currently a student at Illinois State, where she is majoring in History with a minor in Sociology. She is an assistant coach for the Normal Community High School softball team. She has coaching experience at the junior high and high school levels. Alexis is available for youth-junior high lessons on hittingand catching.
