Trackman Summer ProgramThis program is designed to improve overall pitch movement tailored to the individual athlete, as well as pitch control and command. We will be utilizing our Trackman unit to get and understand the small details of a pitch including its velocity, spin rate, spin efficiency, vertical and horizontal movement, among other metrics. At the end of the program each athlete will receive a comprehensive Trackman report to take home that they can use to continue working on their pitches and can be used for recruiting. To improve command, we will be using Intended Zones bullpens and utilizing over- and under-weighted baseballs. Within the Intended Zones training, the athlete will receive reports on how much distance they miss by on each pitch type, which will determine if they need to work on control with a one or two pitches or if they need improvement across their entire arsenal.
Is this safe to do while playing travel baseball in the summer? Yes! We will be taking baseline measurements of grip and shoulder strength during their first session and use that across that next 6 weeks to determine their throwing volume for that session. These strength numbers are strong indicators of throwing readiness. |
